Shocking exit for Federer

36 straight quarter final streak in grandslams ended.

Shocked by the served and volley game.

Federer-Stokhvosky

Stakhovsky made it. He never done before.

Looks like another Rosol.

all expected for Fedal quarters and happened like this.

firs break of serve came in 3rd set 11th game. That’s too much quality in services from two players.

“I’m still in disbelief that actually happened. Magic. Beating Roger on his court where he is a legend is special. He’s the greatest player, the biggest name, and a decent man everyone admires. I couldn’t play any better. I played my best tennis and still it was almost not enough to beat Roger Federer. When you play him at Wimbledon, you play two people – you play Roger Federer, and then you also play his ego and his Centre Court history. I just hoped he wouldn’t get too far ahead of me so I would have a chance to stay in the match and that’s what happened. I got a little tight in the fourth set but I did everything I needed to and wanted to. I’m incredibly happy” – Stakhovsky

“The 24-hour rule applies. Don’t panic at this point. Go back to work and come back stronger. Usually I do turnarounds pretty good. This is clearly not what I was hoping for here. He was uncomfortable to play against, but I expected serve-and-volley because he often does it. Credit to him for closing it out under enormous pressure. I’m very disappointed I couldn’t find a way to win. I had opportunities, a foot in the door, but I couldn’t do it. I wish [the 36 quarter-finals] were not going to end here but I have no choice other than to accept it and move on. It doesn’t feel like the end of an era for me because I still have plans to play for many more years to come. Some finals haven’t hurt this much. At least having lost I didn’t have to go through a trophy ceremony with this one.” – Roger Federer

Wimbledon draw released – all eyes on Fedal quarter final

Seeding drama ended yesterday confirming Nadal would be seeded 5 behind David Ferrer. This caused a possible epic between Federer and Nadal in Round of 8. Both have equal chances of winning. Roger who considered to be stronger, but with Nadal in his prime time, stopping him difficult. Definitely it would be a great match again and hope these two won’t upset us in reaching quarters.

On the other side Djokovic must be laughing that easy lane till final. 😉 Unless he loose control over the game and the opponent played superb, Djokovic is not going to be out of tournament till final.

Murray, who lost to Roger Federer last year and won Gold medal in the next month at the same venue,on the other side may face either Rafa or Roger in semi-final. Murray left Roland Garros because of injury and he is also in good form after winning Queen’s cup.

Overall this is a tough draw for Roger to defend his title. Let’s see. Any thing can happen in tennis.

Don’t forget

Juan Martin Delpo is back in track after his health problems. And Dimitrov, the baby fed playing in his first Wimbldon as a tennis pro. In junior level he won the Chamionships already.
